⚖️ Appeal a Refused NLV
NLV applications are sometimes refused on income, document, or health insurance grounds. Most refusals can be addressed — either via a formal appeal (recurso) to the consulate or by strengthening and resubmitting the application. We review your refusal reason and advise on the strongest route forward.
- Free review of your refusal notice
- Assessment: appeal vs. fresh application
- Refusal reason analysis and counter-argument preparation
- Formal appeal or strengthened resubmission
- Ongoing support through the reconsideration process
The Process
How Our Managed NLV Application Works
From your eligibility check to your visa approval — here is exactly what happens when you use our managed service.
Eligibility Check — Free
Complete our online eligibility check via the dashboard. Share your income sources, amounts, nationality, and where you plan to apply. We assess whether you qualify and confirm the exact income threshold for your consulate and household size. No payment required at this stage.
Pay Deposit & Meet Your Case Manager (€400)
If you qualify, pay the €400 deposit to begin. You are assigned a dedicated immigration case manager from Platinum Legal Spain who will guide your application. They issue your tailored document checklist — specific to your nationality, consulate, and income type.
Prepare & Submit Your Documents (€400 before submission)
Gather the documents on your checklist. Your case manager reviews everything before submission. Certified translations up to €100 are included. When your application pack is complete and approved, the second payment of €400 is due and your application is submitted to the consulate.
Consulate Appointment & Processing
Most consulates require you to attend in person to submit your biometrics. Your case manager prepares you for what to expect and what to bring. Processing typically takes 1–3 months. You can track your application status in real time via the dashboard.
Visa Approved — Final Payment & Next Steps (€699)
When your visa is approved, the final payment of €699 is due. Your case manager provides guidance on what to do when you arrive in Spain — Padrón registration, NIE/TIE appointment, health registration, and other essentials. You are ready to start your new life in Spain.
What's Included
Why Choose a Managed Service Over DIY?
Dedicated case manager
You are not dealing with a call centre. Your dedicated immigration case manager at Platinum Legal Spain is familiar with your file, your consulate, and your specific income situation. They are available to answer questions throughout the process.
Consulate-specific expertise
Different Spanish consulates have different quirks — some are stricter on income evidence, some require additional documents, some have longer waiting times. Our specialists know what your specific consulate expects and prepare your application accordingly.
Translations included
Up to €100 of certified translations is included in your service fee. Most UK, US, Australian, and South African applicants need translations of 1–2 key documents. This cost is absorbed for the majority of our clients.
Dashboard tracking
Track your application status at every stage via our client dashboard at dashboard.platinumlegalspain.com. You always know where your application stands, what the next step is, and what your case manager is working on.
Pre-submission review
Your case manager reviews every document in your application pack before submission. This catches errors, missing translations, and document issues before they become refusal reasons — significantly increasing your chances of first-time approval.
Staged payments — no risk
You pay in stages: €400 to start, €400 before submission, €699 on approval. If your visa is refused at the consulate stage despite a correctly submitted application, your final payment is not due. You are not paying for a result that doesn't arrive.
Common Questions
NLV Services — Frequently Asked Questions
How much does your NLV application service cost in total?
Our managed NLV application service costs €1,499 total, paid in three stages: €400 deposit to begin, €400 before your application is submitted to the consulate, and €699 when your visa is approved. There are no hidden fees. You also pay government application fees directly (typically €80–€100) — these are separate from our service fee and are paid to the Spanish government, not to us.
What does the managed service include?
Our service includes: initial eligibility assessment, a dedicated immigration case manager, a tailored document checklist for your consulate, document review and preparation guidance, certified translations up to €100, pre-submission application review, consulate appointment guidance, real-time dashboard tracking, and post-approval guidance on arriving and settling in Spain. The service is end-to-end — you are not left to figure anything out alone.
Can you help if my NLV application was already refused?
Yes. Our appeal service begins with a free review of your refusal notice. Most NLV refusals are on income evidence, document, or health insurance grounds — all of which are addressable. We advise whether a formal appeal (recurso) or a strengthened fresh application is the better route for your situation, then prepare the strongest possible case for reconsideration.
Do you handle NLV renewals?
Yes — our renewal service costs €699 total (€300 + €399) and covers the full renewal process from within Spain. Renewals are submitted to the Spanish immigration authorities (Oficina de Extranjería), not the consulate. You need updated income evidence, a new health insurance certificate, and current Padrón documentation. The renewal is typically for 2 years, with a further 2-year renewal available after that.
Can you handle applications for my whole family?
Yes — our family application service handles one lead applicant plus dependants (spouse/partner and dependent children) in a single coordinated application. All family members apply together and receive their visas together. The income threshold increases by approximately €600/month per additional family member. Contact us for a family application assessment and quote specific to your family size.
Do I have to attend the consulate in person?
Most consulates require you to attend in person to submit your application and provide biometrics (fingerprints and photograph). Some consulates permit applications to be submitted by post or courier for the document stage with in-person attendance only for biometrics. Your case manager advises on the exact requirements for your specific consulate. We provide full guidance on what to bring and what to expect at your appointment.
